ABOUT
Megan Wood is a freelance illustrator, painter, and cartoonist living in Los Angeles, originally from Portland, Oregon. Graduating with a BFA in Illustration from the Pacific Northwest College of Art, she works in a variety of mediums, such as digital art, oil paint, gouache, and ink, creating atmospheric images with expressive marks and vivid colors, with a focus on the figure and nature, and raw visual storytelling. She illustrated a collection of lesbian poetry, titled Openhearted, for her BFA Thesis project in December 2019 and donated the proceeds to Heart to Heart International and Don’t Shoot PDX. Wood was also awarded a research grant by the NOAA Art + Science Initiative to illustrate a series of images for Warming the West, a book on the impact of climate change on the West coast of North America. She is a contributor of Postscript: an Unversed Comics Anthology, self-published and crowdfunded by a group of 40 artists.
